1. Overview

This is the Privacy Policy for theopenengineering.com. We respect your data, your privacy, and your time. This document outlines what minimal information we collect, why we collect it, and how your information is safeguarded.

2. Information We Collect

  • Authentication Data: When signing in via Google or GitHub OAuth, we receive your email address, avatar, and unique account identifier provided by Supabase Auth.
  • Project Submissions: Public engineering metadata (project names, repositories, CAD files, licensing information) that you explicitly submit to the catalog.
  • Analytics & Usage: Anonymous aggregate metrics (such as page views, visitor country, and real-time active visitor counts) to maintain platform health.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

We use lightweight session cookies and local storage tokens solely to preserve authentication sessions, active theme preferences (light, dark, or system), and your cookie consent choice. We do not sell your personal data or deploy invasive cross-site ad trackers.

4. Payment Information

Monetization and paid sponsorship checkouts are handled directly by our Merchant of Record, Dodo Payments. We never store, process, or transmit credit card numbers or sensitive billing credentials on our servers.
